Faculty Development Programme on "Essentials of Teaching and Learning in Engineering Education"
Kavikulguru Institute of Technology and Science (KITS), Ramtek organized a Faculty
Development Programme (FDP) on "Essentials of Teaching and Learning in Engineering
Education" on 6th November 2025. Dr. Mahendra Gayakwad, Professor and Project Director'
GHRCE Satellite Programme, G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur, was the resource
person.
Dr. Gayakwad emphasized the need for engineering teachers to shift from content delivery and examination-driven teaching towards competency-based and skill-oriented education and aligning education with industry and societal needs. He highlighted that engineers must think, design, innovate, lead and contribute to nation building while adopting an interdisciplinary approach. He also stressed the importance of enhancing listening, writing and presentation skills for global competence.
Faculty members actively participated and appreciated the insightful session aimed at promoting academic excellence through continuous faculty development.
Convener of the FDP and Dean (Academic) Dr. Vilas P. Mahatme, expressed sincere gratitude to Sri. V. Srinivasa Rao, Honorable Secretary, Vodithala Education Society, Hyderabad, for his continuous support and encouragement towards organizing such academic initiatives. He also conveyed heartfelt thanks to Dr. Avinash N. Srikhande, Principal, KITS, Ramtek, for his guidance and inspiration in fostering academic excellence at the institute.
